Comments on recently watched Indian movies

I don't have time to write full reviews for all the movies I've seen lately, just too busy in general, but I'll write a short summary about the movies I've seen not too long ago and recently

Jhoom Barabar Jhoom- please avoid this movie at all costs- its such a pointless film with no storyline. Extremely boring as well. Abhishek Bachchan puts in a spirited effort, while Preity Zinta is just fake and annoying. Lara Dutta is okay, and Bobby Deol- was funny at times, but was overall really wasted.

Naqaab-this movie wasn't all that good- I was expecting better from Abbas Mustan. Akshaye Khanna gives a good performance though the role doesn't demand much from his an actor, Urvashi Sharma gives a confident performance as a newcomer, and Bobby Deol is okay- he gets better scope in the second half.

Partner-okay film- not that great. Its an overrated film. Govinda steals the show here- he's in full form. Salman is okay. Lara and Katrina have nothing special to do here. Rajpal Yadav is funny as Don. There were some really funny scenes.

Gandhi my Father-a good film, however its a bit slow. Its one of the better films of the year so far. The performances by the whole cast are excellent. Akshaye Khanna as Harilal Gandhi delivers a fabulous performance- one of his best. Shefali Shah as Kasturba is wonderful . Darshan Jariwala as Gandhi is great as well. Bhoomika Chawla also delivers a fine performance. Worth a watch, but you should have patience while watching it- its a bit slow in the first half, picks up in the second half.

Apne- an okay film, I was a little disappointed with this one. The performances were good by all three Deols- Dharmendra, Sunny, and Bobby. Kiron Kher is very good. Shilpa and Katrina- having small roles deliver as well. Divya Dutta is decent. Music by Himesh is not that good- he's capable of better. Some other thoughts- I didn't really like how the movie was so focused on boxing- it got boring afterawhile. I don't know why Bobby said in his interviews that the film wasn't about boxing- most of it was- there were loads of Boxing in this movie.
